Meet Jessica

Jessica Maryellen Larkin  Hello peasants, my name is Jessica and I’m writing my own bio because I know Katie will not do me justice. I’m the current Miss Dolliverse and you must bow down to me.  (Jessica, you are not Miss Dolliverse)  Of course I am, look at me, I’m gorgeous.  I’ve had multiple looks in my lifetime, I was once a crusty looking My American Girl 36 but I had a glow up and became this beautiful Maryellen doll.  I love all things expensive, I love Ariana Grande, I love makeup, I love diamonds, I love mirrors, I love gossip, I love money, I love tragic romances, I love jewellery, but what I love the most is my girlfriend, Ariana Rebecca Rubin. She’s ethereal, and so am I.  (Jessica, you are so vain.) And you are ugly.  (Why am I letting you do this?)  Shush, and bring me some muffins! Now back to the topic of me, I am the most talented doll in the cookieboodolls house with my brilliant modelling skills, I’m practically flawless. I don’...

Meet Tori

Tori Victoria Rose Larkin, is the oldest of the Larkin siblings, and because of that they are mature, responsible and have a natural gift for being a leader. Tori works hard to keep their younger sisters Jessica and Willa in line, but the pair can be quite ruthless at times.  Tori is athletic, they play tennis, football and hockey, and they also enjoy skateboarding around town with Mary Jane. However, Tori is mostly focused on Tennis and hopes to play at Wimbledon one day. Tori spends most of their time practicing and competing in tennis tournaments to which the have brought home many medals and trophies for.  Tori is intelligent and quite academic, they know education is important and therefore they try to spend as much time as possible studying, but they will admit that they don’t study as much as they should due to their passion for sport.  Tori and their cousin Nellie love the fantasy genre, they often read books and watch films together.  In June 202...

10 ways to improve your American Girl photography

I’ve been taking photos of my American Girl dolls since 2014 and have learnt a lot about photography since then, here are 10 ways you can improve your photography and stay motivated. You can share your photography on blogs, YouTube or Instagram, this is a great way to receive feedback and make friends with people who share your interest in dolls!  1. Have your dolls look presentable If your dolls have  cute outfits and hairstyles, your photos will be more appealing to look at. Try to keep flyaways at a minimum in your shots, especially ones that fall in your dolls face because they can be distracting. Brush your dolls hair before shoot, use a tooth brush to their flatten them down, and avoid taking photos when it’s windy.  2. Lighting Lighting is important, you don’t want your photos to be too dark or two light. A lot of professional photographers use fancy flashes, studio lights and reflectors but that is not an option for many people including myself. I’ve found t...

Meet Marie-Grace

Marie-Grace Marie-Grace is a lover of poetry and storytelling, you can always find her cuddled up with a book and a hot chocolate. She is quiet and shy, genuine and loving, creative and intelligent. Her friends love that they can always count on her to comfort them. Not only does Marie-Grace love literature, she has a deep interest in nature, she loves gardening and researching about plants. She also likes to birdwatch and go foraging. Marie-Grace wants to move to the countryside and live her best cottage core life as a fantasy novelist when she is older. Marie-Grace thrives in quiet, calm environments where she can feel in control. Marie-Grace is autistic like myself, although like all my autistic dolls, they represent different traits, Marie-Grace finds socialising in large groups difficult but finds small groups less intimidating, she can also find it hard to ask for what she wants. She has sensory issues particularly with loud unpredictable noises and flashing lights. Howev...

Meet Emma

Introducing Emma,   Emma is my oldest and first doll and I have created a strong bond with her which has a significant impact on her character development. Emma’s personality is loud, bold and bizarre. She is also stubborn and fights for what she believes in. Emma comes off as intense and some dolls find her hard to get along with. For the most part Emma is friendly, unless she feels offended or intimated then she will become hostile towards the dolls erupting them feelings inside of her.  Emma’s heritage is particularly unique as she descends from Goblins and Trolls, her mother being the troll and her father being the goblin. She values her heritage but it is unknown to the other dolls whether Emma is being serious or whether it is all a big joke.  Emma’s interests outside of her goblin troll heritage includes football (soccer), gymnastics, dance and pranks. She is also part of a band named The Glitter Frogs where she is their joint lead singer (or shall I say screamer) ...
